NAQC Needs Your Help on Medicaid Project

NAQC is in the process of identifying and collecting existing resources that have been developed by quitlines, tobacco control programs, policy makers and others to communicate with their Medicaid counterparts about the importance of collaboration between quitlines and Medicaid. This includes, but is not limited to:
These and other materials that will be collected and/or developed by NAQC (to fill in priority gaps in resources) will be utilized to develop a new online resource on NAQC’s website to help quitlines better work with Medicaid programs and increase the opportunity for reimbursement for services provided to Medicaid beneficiaries (recognizing current limitations in such arrangements due to Medicaid statutory/regulatory prohibitions).
- Materials to communicate the costs/savings (i.e., ROI) associated with quitlines in general, and serving Medicaid beneficiaries specifically (if available). Additionally, information on services provided to the uninsured and other high-risk populations may be appropriate and of interest. Also, information on relationships with health plans that contract directly with Medicaid and subcontract/partner with quitlines are of interest as well.
- Materials used to enhance collaboration between quitlines and Medicaid and communicate with Medicaid beneficiaries and stakeholders about the availability of quitlines in their state/community.
