On Tuesday, September 14th, 2010 the American Lung Association will release new state-by-state data on the economic benefits of helping people quit smoking. This cost-benefit analysis was conducted by researchers at Penn State. These data will be an important new tool for national, state and local advocates to use as they push for all smokers to have access to a comprehensive tobacco cessation benefit.
We would like to invite you to a preview webinar of Smoking Cessation: the Economic Benefits. On this webinar we will share a preview of these data, discuss our activities around it and talk about ways you can use this information. With health care reform being implemented at the federal and state levels, and tobacco taxes being considered in many states, this study will be an important tool in making the case for helping smokers quit. We hope you can join us.
