The Wall Street Journal is out this morning with a story on cuts to state tobacco prevention and cessation programs. States will continue to face severe budget shortfalls in the coming year, and many programs will be again be targets for cuts. Your sustainability efforts are as critical as ever, so you want to make sure you are doing everything possible to defend your programs and maintain tobacco control funding.
Below is a list of resources that state programs and advocates can use to defend any cuts to state program funding. The list includes information about where you can access these materials and how you can request materials not available online. Please be very specific in any request for materials. Your request should clearly identify: a) which specific factsheet or resource you need and b) for which state.
We hope you find these resources helpful as you fight to maintain funding for your programs in the upcoming legislative session and beyond. Of course, if something is not on the list that you think could be helpful, just let us know.
