In November, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a proposed rule on required warnings for cigarette packages and advertisements, and asked for public comment on the rule. NAQC strongly supports the FDA's proposal. It is our hope that implementation of the proposed rule will have a significant, positive impact on the health of millions of Americans for years to come. Due to the importance of this regulatory effort, NAQC has drafted comments to FDA and is now requesting your feedback on them. The comments feature two recommendations that NAQC believes are most critical to the work of quitlines.
NAQC encourages all members to review the draft comments and provide your feedback on or before January 3. NAQC will be submitting its final comments to FDA on January 10.
