The American Lung Association released the 2010 edition of State Legislated Actions on Tobacco Issues (SLATI), our annual summary/compendium of state tobacco control laws. You can download a PDF copy of SLATI 2010 from the SLATI website, see the first bullet under The Latest section. The 2010 edition covers state tobacco control laws as they stood on January 1, 2011.
Tomorrow (Friday July 1st) we'll also be updating the Lung Association's SLATI website with some of the major legislation that takes effect on or took effect prior to July 1, mostly cigarette tax rate changes and major changes in state smokefree laws. We'll also be updating several of the factsheets on the website to reflect those changes, which can be found on this page on the SLATI website.
We made a few changes earlier this year to the SLATI website – re-arranging and adding new information to the state pages, and also adding the ability to download a separate PDF of each state's tobacco control laws. You can check out your state's information from this page on the website.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Hope everyone enjoys their 4th of July weekends!
