The HHS/CDC National Tobacco Education Campaign was announced on March 15
, and begins airing ads on March 19
. This 12-week campaign is called "Tips from Former Smokers.”
We are very enthusiastic about the campaign and its impact on making more smokers aware of quitlines and helping them to quit! In collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NAQC has compiled information about the campaign for three key audiences:
- state quitlines,
- media contacts, and
- tobacco users/members of the general public.
The web pages include contact information for media questions, technical problems or concerns, complaints or compliments, and other issues. You can also find information on sharing your success stories with NAQC and CDC, or communicating with your peers on challenges and strategies through the NAQC listserv. Information about upcoming conference calls or other events will also be posted.
