Working Toward A Tobacco-Free Generation: 51 Years of Progress.

Eliminating tobacco use seemed like an impossible task when the first Surgeon General’s report on smoking came out in 1964. Almost half of the population smoked, and tobacco use was everywhere from airplanes and restaurants to sports and magazines. However, one year ago this month, when the Surgeon General’s Report, The Health Consequences of Smoking—50 Years of Progress was released, the amount of progress that has been made in lowering those statistics was recognized.
