Chief, Office of Tobacco Prevention & Cessation - ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES!

The Bureau of Tobacco and Chronic Disease (BTCD) tobacco program is positioned to lead statewide efforts in the public and private sectors in the creation of tobacco-free environments for all Arizonans. 

This position oversees and provides high level leadership in all aspects of tobacco control, including the prevention of tobacco use among youth, reducing tobacco use among adults, and reducing exposure to secondhand smoke in both indoor and outdoor environments.  The position is responsible for the recruitment, development, management and evaluation of key personnel, as well as the program and fiscal management of contracts and inter-governmental agreements with partners and key stakeholders at the community, county, state, and federal levels.   Within a population health framework, the position plays a key role in integrating  tobacco control activities across the full spectrum of public health services, and provides leadership in ensuring health equity across disparate populations, including low SES, ethnic minority and border communities, as well as tribal nations.
