Webinar on February 22- Leveraging the New Hospital Community Benefit Toolkit to Promote Tobacco Ces

More than half of the hospitals in the US are private, nonprofit organizations that are tax-exempt.  Since 2012, they have been required to conduct Community Health Needs Assessments every three years and implement a strategy to deal with issues identified by that Needs Assessment. 
The American Lung Association believes this creates an opportunity for public health to partner and assist these hospitals. In December of 2017, the American Lung Association released a new toolkit to provide state and local public health professionals with the tools and guidance they need to be informed and active participants in hospital Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs).  The toolkit provides ways to integrate tobacco into the CHNA process in a way that complements other community needs. Join the Lung Association to learn more about Hospital Community Benefit requirements and the new toolkit on the Hospital Community Benefit and tobacco cessation. Webinar participants will learn about the new toolkit and receive tactical, hands-on ideas for how and why to use it.
