Webinar on November 3: Helping Patients Quit: Implementing The Joint Commission Tobacco Measure Set

Tuesday, October 25, 2011
Posted by: Natalia Gromov
Meeting Description:
Hospitalization provides an opportunity to assist tobacco users with quitting. With Partnership for Prevention funding, The Joint Commission has developed a new set of performance measures to address the assessment and treatment of tobacco dependence for all hospitalized patients. This new measure set will be available for hospital selection in January 2012.
Partnership is pleased to host this educational webinar for the ActionToQuit Network and other tobacco control leaders and advocates nationwide. The program will feature a synopsis of The Joint Commission measure set; Massachusetts General Hospital's experience in tobacco screening and intervention; guidance for dissemination and advocacy; and an overview of Partnership's newly released Helping Patients Quit implementation guide.
  • Nancy A. Rigotti, M.D., Director, Tobacco Research and Treatment Unit, Massachusetts General Hospital
  • Nancy Lawler, R.N., Associate Project Director, The Joint Commission
