The Policy Playbook contents are based on information gathered from case studies written to highlight the main issues, opportunities, challenges and lessons learned by quitlines and their partners when implementing smokefree policies.
Information focuses on promoting quitline services to smokers following the enactment of new clean indoor air laws or implementation of tobacco tax increases. The playbook provides strategies to help states maximize cessation attempts through the use of quitlines and suggests an ideal approach to accomplish this goal. Implementing smokefree policies presents many opportunities to promote quitlines, including paid media, toolkits, public relations, websites, trainings, workplace signage, collateral materials and more.
