Dear Colleagues,

NAQC is pleased to support the promotion of the SelfMade Health Network (SMHN) 2022 Educational Campaign: National Conversation on Preventing Addiction from Menthol and Other Flavored Tobacco Products in All Communities: A Path Forward.  NAQC members are welcome to join this two-part Twitter Chat series focuses on reducing tobacco-related cancers in communities by preventing addiction from menthol and other flavored tobacco products across the lifespan. Participants will discuss a wide range of solutions, as well as free resources, services available to all communities nationwide, and health equity.

Part 1: January 12, 2022, 12:30 pm-1:30 pm (Eastern Time)
Part 2: January 26, 2022, 12:30 pm-1:30 pm (Eastern Time)

This 2022 Educational Campaign is an opportunity for organizations to showcase or highlight their evidence-based services including the promotion of their State Tobacco Quitline, fact sheets, peer-review articles, reports, toolkits, videos, white papers, guidance documents, infographics, etc. as well as resources from other trustworthy scientific sources. These 2 Twitter Chats are also intended to drive traffic to credible sources, information, and cessation services related to this topic (including tobacco-related medical conditions) among new or “non-traditional” audiences (including public and private sectors) throughout the country.

Examples of CDC National Partners participating in these Twitter Chats include MD Anderson Cancer Center, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, Public Health Law Center at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and Truth Initiative as well as some CDC National Networks [Self Made Health Equity, National LGBT Cancer Network, Geographic Health Equity Alliance] and others.
