Member Listserv

In our continued effort to strengthen member communications and build the quitline community, NAQC offers a networking Listserv exclusively for NAQC members. The goal of the Listserv is to foster dynamic exchange of information among NAQC members to create an online environment where members can dialogue with colleagues about issues important to quitlines in real time, including issues related to operations, services, quality standards, and research.

How can I sign up for the Listserv?
There are two ways to sign up for the Listserv. First, you can indicate on your member application if you would like to be included on the NAQC listserv. Second, you can contact the NAQC office by filling out a contact form.

How do I post a question to the Listserv?
To post a message to the Listserv, send your message to NAQClist@naquitline.org. You may also use the reply button to respond to messages posted by other subscribers. Using the reply button will automatically send your response to the entire list. To reply directly to a member of the list, forward the e-mail and copy and paste his or her e-mail address into the "To" line.

Please always identify yourself with a signature tag in all messages that includes your name, association, location, telephone number and e-mail address.

Note: attachments up to 15MB in size can be sent through the Listserv. However, we ask that you continue to be mindful of each other’s mailbox size capacities and, whenever possible, provide a link to the electronic document instead of sending out an attachment to the entire list.

How do I change my Listserv subscription?
To update your e-mail address or unsubscribe please contact NAQC staff by filling out a contact form. Please do not send requests to change your subscription to the main Listserv list.

Rules and Legal Disclaimer
To ensure the best possible experience for all Listserv members, NAQC has established some basic rules for participation. By participating in the NAQC Listserv, you agree that you have read and will follow the rules set for the Listserv. You also agree to reserve list discussions for topics best suited to the medium (i.e. topics related to quitline operations, services, policy issues and research findings). In order to preserve a climate that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue. NAQC reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership to the Listserv for members who violate the following rules.

Rules

  • Only send a message to the entire list when it contains information that everyone can benefit from. Please consider whether your post will add to the discussion in an informative way that will be of value to others, or whether it is best to send it privately or to a separate distribution list.
  • Do not post messages that contradict NAQC’s mission statement.
  • Posting commercial messages on the Listserv is prohibited. Contact people directly with product and service information if you believe it would help them. Use caution when discussing products.
  • Surveying/polling requests to the Listserv is prohibited. Contact NAQC for information on surveys/polls at membership@naquitline.org.
  • Information posted on the Listserv is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander and antitrust laws.
  • Do not post information or other material that is protected by copyright or use any words, logos, or other marks that would infringe upon a trademark or other intellectual property rights without permission of the owners.
  • Do not post any protected health information (PHI).
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Refrain from challenging or attacking others. The discussions on the lists are meant to stimulate conversation not to create contention. Let others have their say, just as you may.
  • Include a signature tag on all messages that includes your name, affiliation, location and email address.
  • State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject. Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply.
  • Delete any header information and put your response before the original posting.
  • Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals--not to the entire list. Do this by using your email application's forwarding option and typing in or cutting and pasting in the email address of the individual to whom you want to respond.
  • Do not send administrative emails (such as “remove me from the list”) to the entire listserv; instead, send them to membership@naquitline.org.

Please note carefully all items listed in the disclaimer below, particularly regarding the copyright ownership of information posted to the list. Remember that NAQC and other e-mail list participants have the right to reproduce postings to this Listserv.
