We extend heartfelt thanks to our outgoing Board Directors for their significant contributions throughout their Board service and ongoing dedication to NAQC's mission.
Paula Celestino served on the Board from 2016 to 2023. With a career in commercial tobacco control spanning 25 years, she provided consistent and thoughtful oversight from a quitline service provider and researcher perspective. She served in various officer roles during her tenure, including Chair-Elect, Secretary, and Executive Committee Chair. Most recently, Paula helped guide the organization through periods of significant change, serving three years as Chair, the Board's chief governance officer. This included a special extension year due to the COVID-19 public health emergency and leadership throughout the CEO succession.
Miranda Spitznagle served on the Board from 2017 to 2023, holding numerous officer roles, including Secretary, Nomination Committee Chair, and Vice Chair. Miranda provided invaluable insight from a state government lens with 20 years of expertise in program evaluation, program development, strategic planning, contract and grant management, grant writing, policy evaluation, metrics development, and advocacy.
Delmonte Jefferson served on the Board from 2017 to 2023. We are grateful for his guidance and perspective as a public health leader with over two decades of experience working across sectors to create programs and services that address commercial tobacco-related disparities and promote a culture of health equity. Delmonte served in Secretary, Treasurer, and Audit Committee Chair leadership roles while on the Board.
All outgoing Board members were instrumental in developing NAQC's Strategic Vision and guiding the CEO search and transition process.
