The Surgeon General's 35th tobacco report, Eliminating Tobacco-Related Disease and Death: Addressing Disparities, highlights the ongoing effort to address tobacco-related disparities in the United States. While progress has been made in reducing tobacco use, significant disparities persist.

On January 22, we hosted a  webinar to learn about the key findings of the 35th Surgeon General’s report, the most in-depth look at tobacco-related inequities to date. We focused on how Quitlines help advance health equity by providing accessible and affordable quit support for underserved populations. We also highlighted the impact of Quitline programs on specific groups, including how tailored services and culturally relevant approaches help reduce barriers. We also explored ways to improve Quitline reach and engagement to better address tobacco-related inequities.

You can find a link to the webinar recording and slides, as well as an infographic (PNG copy) and an executive summary with key findings and highlights for the quitline community from the report on our website. Additional resources will be added to the naquitline.org/SGR page as they become available.
