Dear Colleagues,

The new Surgeon General's Report titled “Eliminating Tobacco-Related Disease and Death: Addressing Disparities” was recently removed from the CDC website. NAQC has saved the full report, along with consumer guides, fact sheets, and key findings in English and Spanish, on a specific page of our website dedicated to the report and resources for the quitline community. This comprehensive 837-page report is a critical document containing the latest scientific evidence, providing a solid foundation for our continued efforts in commercial tobacco prevention, policy, and cessation.

The report highlighted that quitlines “can increase access to cessation treatments among population groups affected by tobacco-related disparities, particularly when quitline promotion and services are developed, delivered, and evaluated with attention to their reach and relevance to these groups” (page 14). Included on our website is an infographic (PNG copy) and an executive summary with key findings and highlights for the quitline community.
