*Smoke-free laws and tobacco tax rates are updated by NAQC staff on a quarterly basis.
Smoke-free law information is provided by Americans for Nonsmokers'
Rights and Canadian Cancer Society.
Tobacco tax rate data is provided by Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and Canadian Cancer Society. For Canadian tobacco tax increases do not include any GST,
PST, and HST tax-related changes. Tax data is presented in Canadian dollars and reflects the amount of tax per pack of cigarettes (20 cigarettes per pack), which includes federal, provincial, and territorial taxes.
