What was covered during this seminar?

Phase III of the series, focused on the promotion of evidence-based services, educating employers and insurers on the availability of quitline services and demonstrating the cost-benefit of providing cessation services.

Jeffrey Fellows, PhD, Center for Health Research, Kaiser Permanente Northwest, Senior Research Associate discussed making the business case for smoking cessation interventions by demonstrating the return-on-investment of smoking cessation using the America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) calculator. Additionally, participants learned about employer and health plans' motivation for providing cessation coverage for their members/employers through use of the quitline.
