Promoting Quitlines/Creating Demand
This section includes a wide range of topics related to promoting quitline services to increase demand and maximize reach. Information includes how to use traditional media (print, television, radio), earned media, public relations, free NRT and/or medication promotions. Promoting quitlines during cessation-related policy change to maximize the cessation benefit is included in NAQC’s policy playbook and numerous other resources. Also addressed is outreach and promotion to healthcare providers (see Health Systems Change), graphic warning labels as a promotion tool, reaching priority populations and national efforts to coordinate promotions of 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
