2014 Annual Webinar Series
The Evolving Cessation
Evidence Base: Implications for Our Practice, Our Policies and Our
Reach
The 2014 Webinar Series will continue NAQC’s ten-year education
and quality improvement mission: to encourage dialogue on promising and better
practices, new research findings, and implementation successes and challenges
in order to improve quality, increase understanding of the evidence base, and
ensure maximized access, use and effectiveness of quitline services.
Webinars in the 2014 series will focus on new and emerging models for
delivering cessation treatment, highlighting implications of the evolving
evidence base for new cessation products and delivery methods on quitline
practice, as well as possible implications for their expanding quitline reach
to the changing demographics of tobacco users.
Please note, in addition to the quarterly webinar series, NAQC also will
present webinars related to our ongoing programs such as results from the
annual survey of quitlines, new quality improvement papers from the advisory
council, and updates from the eReferral workgroup, Medicaid roundtable, and
states engaged in developing cost-sharing partnerships with health plans and
employers. We will keep you updated on program webinars as they are planned.
Webinars will 1.5 hours long and hosted on a selected Wednesday each
month.
Please email Tamatha

Referrals,
Reach and Retention: Are Quitline Outreach and Healthcare Provider Training
Efforts Paying Off?
Nearly ten years ago NAQC began to see a quick, steady rise in the number of
states dedicating resources and effort to develop fax-referral systems.
Recently, we have turned our focus to implementation of eReferral. However,
what have we learned about generating referrals to quitlines by healthcare
providers over the past ten years? Are our referral systems generating enrollment
in quitline services to the degree we need them to in order to impact
prevalence rates? How have our practices changed in order to ensure retention
in services, especially with specific populations?
These and other questions related to ten years of lessons learned will be
explored by a panel of service providers, evaluators and funders.
