Dear Colleagues,
In November 2014, NAQC published the “Cessation Treatment and E-Cigarettes” issue paper. While gathering information from quitline funders and service providers, it became clear there was a need to establish standard intake and follow-up questions on ENDS for the Minimal Data Set (MDS). To meet that need, NAQC is pleased to announce the creation of the NAQC MDS Workgroup on ENDS (Electronic Nicotine Delivery System).
Below is a list of the 10 MDS ENDS workgroup members who represent quitline funders, service providers, tobacco cessation researchers and federal partners. The workgroup will focus on developing standard questions to assess e-cigarette use, reason for use, amount and frequency of use and intention to quit by August 1, 2015. NAQC members will be provided an opportunity to comment on questions before they are finalized.
If you have questions about the MDS ENDS workgroup please contact Maria Rudie, NAQC Research Manager at mrudie@naquitline.org
