Thursday, April 6, 2017
Posted by: Natalia Gromov
Dear NAQC members,

We hope that the new year is off to a good and productive start! We thank all who renewed their NAQC membership or joined as new members this year as well as those who have attended our recent conference in Austin. Your membership dues allow us to provide resources, address important new legislative and policy changes and be more flexible as an organization in meeting changing member needs and requests. We hope NAQC’s work in the past year has contributed to your success and we look forward to providing many new resources this year!

NAQC’s membership drive for 2017/2018 begins today, on April 6, and I would like to provide you with important membership renewal information, include a brief recap of the highlights from the last year, and  updates on the work ahead

UPDATE ON MEMBERSHIP DRIVE. Please keep the following important membership dates in mind:
Early April  – launch of the membership drive and distribution of invoices
June 30 – last day to renew your membership
July 1 – beginning of the 2017/2018 membership year

I would like to thank all of you for your many contributions to NAQC, not only through payment of membership dues but also through the expertise you provide to NAQC projects and the time you make available to serve on working groups, committees, the Advisory Council, and the Board.

HIGLIGHTS OF NAQC WORK. In the past year, NAQC has released  a number of resources that we hope will be useful to you:

Best Practices for Quality Improvement
Medicaid
eReferral with Certified Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
Public-Private Partnerships
Annual Survey & MDS
Member Resources

UPDATES ON WORK AHEAD. The future holds many opportunities and challenges for the quitline community, including important national policy changes to the Affordable Care Act in the U.S. and the strategic planning process in Canada, cost-sharing, and responding to new tobacco and nicotine products like e-cigarettes.  At the conference in March of this year, we have gathered your feedback on technology, cost-sharing partnerships, and public health/healthcare sector collaboration. In response to your comments, we plan to facilitate targeted dialogues, develop evidence based reports and strategies, offer webinars and other types of technical assistance to aid you in your work.

If you have any questions about the membership drive or will need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us at membership@naquitline.org or 800-398-5489 ext. 707. Membership details are also available on the NAQC website.

With warm regards,

Linda A. Bailey
President & CEO
