ALA Webinar on February 12: Tobacco Cessation Barriers 101: The Impact on Quitting.

Smoking is the leading cause of preventable disease and death in the United States. And while data show almost 7 in 10 smokers want to quit, fewer than 1 in 10 quit successfully. The burden of smoking is particularly heavy on the Medicaid population – Medicaid enrollees smoke at a rate over twice as high as those with private insurance. Join the American Lung Association to discuss common barriers to tobacco cessation services in state Medicaid programs. The webinar will also discuss the impact each barrier has on helping people quit smoking.
