OSH Introduces Updated and Expanded Resources for Healthcare Providers.

The Office on Smoking and Health has recently launched streamlined and updated resource web pages for healthcare providers. These pages include tools for guiding patient interactions, educational materials, multimedia products from the award-winning Tips From Former Smokers® (Tips) campaign, and more.
On the Smoking and Tobacco Use website (cdc.gov/TobaccoHCP), resources for clinicians include:

• Clinical Tools, including a guide for treating tobacco use and dependence and a reference card for starting tobacco cessation conversations;
• Patient Resources, which can be downloaded, printed, and given to patients or displayed in clinical settings;
• Facts and FAQs on Quitlines and Other Cessation Support Resources, such as apps or texting programs;
• Video-based and other provider Education and Training tools;
• Updated information about E-Cigarettes for providers treating patients of all ages.

Providers can access branded materials on the Tips From Former Smokers® website (cdc.gov/TipsHCP), such as:

• An overview of why Tips matters to healthcare providers;
• Tips materials for healthcare settings, including printable PDFs and Tips ads, posters, and videos;
• A case study on how providers have successfully partnered with Tips to help patients quit smoking;
• A list of health associations that use Tips.
