| Staff Changes at NAQC – Welcome New Research and Program Managers Dear Colleagues:
I have several staffing changes to share with you.Christine Clements Stein,PhD, MPH(cstein@naquitline.org; 800-398-5489 ext. 708) is transitioning to a Senior Consultant role and we are pleased to welcome Katie Mason, MPP (kmason@naquitline.org; 800-398-5489 ext. 703) as the new Research and Evaluation Manager. Ms. Mason will be the lead contact for NAQC’s annual survey, MDS, and other research-related technical assistance. Karen Rezai, MPH has left her position as Program and Communications Manager to focus on her health.Randi Lachter, MPH (rlachter@naquitline.org; 800-398-5489 ext. 702), who many of you know, has been hired as Senior Program Manager. Ms. Lachter will be the lead contact on NAQC’s Learning Communities, Project Connect (lung cancer screening project with MD Anderson), and program-related technical assistance. Please find the biographical sketches for both Ms. Lachter and Ms. Mason below. Randi B. Lachter, MPH Senior Program Manager Ms. Lachter oversees the Learning Community activities, Project Connect (lung cancer screening project with MD Anderson), as well as program-related technical assistance. Ms. Lachter had a long career with ClearWay MinnesotaSM, where she managed all aspects of QUITPLAN® Services, Minnesota’s statewide commercial tobacco cessation program designed to help all Minnesotans quit commercial tobacco, and later as Director of Tobacco Treatment Programs. Randi received her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Minnesota and her BA from the University of Michigan. Katie Mason, MPP Research and Evaluation Manager Ms. Mason oversees and manages evaluation and research program activities, including the annual survey of quitlines and Minimal Data Set. She has over seven years’ experience evaluating public health and social programs. Katie has worked in government, nonprofits, and the private sector. Prior positions have included Research Associate at the North Carolina Partnership for Children and Evaluation Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity. She is fluent in Spanish. Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Public Policy from Duke University.
