April 30, 2021, at 1 pm ET Treating tobacco use disorder in the behavioral health setting is safe, promotes longer term sobriety, reduces social stigma, and contributes to improved physical health and quality of life. Yet smoking is commonplace and a prime form of socialization in the treatment and recovering culture. For many the vision of being in recovery includes a cigarette, cup of coffee and daily mutual support meeting. In this webinar, participants will gain an understanding of strategy to challenge the social norms that serve as barriers to tobacco-free addiction services and to provide tobacco-specific behavioral counseling within a hope-inducing, growth-promoting spirit of recovery.     Webinar Objectives: -   Apply strategies to tailor evidence-based tobacco dependence practice guidelines to a behavioral health population.
  -   Assemble participant capacity to discuss the topic within a narrative of drug and alcohol recovery.
  -   Analyze a tobacco behavioral counseling model that ensures matching the intervention to client stage-readiness.
