Insights from the Surgeon General's 35th Tobacco Report & Effective Quitline Strategies

Dear Colleagues,

The Surgeon General's 35th tobacco report, , highlights the ongoing effort to address tobacco-related disparities in the United States. While progress has been made in reducing tobacco use, significant disparities persist.

On January 22 at 1 pm ET, we are hosting a special webinar to learn about the key findings of the 35th Surgeon General’s report, the most in-depth look at tobacco-related inequities to date.

We’ll focus on how Quitlines help advance health equity by providing accessible and affordable quit support for underserved populations. You’ll also hear about the impact of Quitline programs on specific groups, including how tailored services and culturally relevant approaches help reduce barriers.

Finally, we’ll explore ways to improve Quitline reach and engagement to better address tobacco-related inequities.

By the end of the webinar you will be able to:

  • Recognize the significance of the 35th Surgeon General’s report as the most comprehensive investigation into commercial tobacco-related disparities.
  • Describe how Quitlines fulfill their equity mission by offering accessible, evidence-based, and cost-effective cessation services for underserved populations.
  • Review the impact of Quitline programs for specific populations, including tailored services, culturally specific protocols, and strategies to reduce barriers.
  • Explore focus areas to enhance Quitline reach and engagement in addressing commercial tobacco-related disparities.

We look forward to your participation!
