As we see rapid changes in policy at the federal and state levels many people are feeling anxious and afraid about what the future holds for us as professionals, and in particular what it means for the services we deliver to improve the health of people in our communities. As an organization, NAQC believes in the diversity of our membership and knows this is our strength. NAQC will host a “coffee/tea hour” Monday mornings at 11:00AM ET in February and March for members to connect. By bringing together our collective voices, we will discover new paths forward to help people stop using commercial tobacco products. NAQC recognizes that not all people have benefited equally from the public health interventions to reduce commercial tobacco use. NAQC is committed to supporting practices that reduce disparities in prevalence and cessation rates for communities with the highest need. And, NAQC strives to bring together a community of members to ensure we can reach and serve everyone who wants help to quit. Our next meeting will be on February 24th at 11 AM ET/10 AM CT/9 AM MT/8 AM PT. The focus will be on contingency planning. Please come prepared to share your experience or thoughts on developing “backup plans” and to engage with your colleagues' questions and insights. If you are interested in attending and would like to be added to the invitation list, please contact us at membership@naquitline.org.
