Dear NAQC Members,

I hope this message finds you well. Over the past six months, many of you have expressed support for a membership structure that enables NAQC to address unique challenges faced by the quitline community, such as:

• Navigating funding uncertainty due to the political climate.

• Enhancing quitline reach for populations with tobacco-related disparities.

• Developing best and promising practices for technology-mediated services.

• Staying updated on the policy and tobacco product landscape.

• Establishing standards for social care and other referrals.

• Serving as a central source of information and collaboration on quality improvement activities.

The future presents numerous opportunities and challenges for our community, including policy changes that could increase demand for quitline services, shifts in the demographics of those served by quitlines, changes in service delivery methods, and new products entering the market. We share your commitment to ensuring that quitlines provide the highest quality services using evidence-based approaches.

In January, the Board approved a modest increase in membership dues starting in the 2025-2026 period. This marks the first increase in ten years and follows significant achievements for members . The Board also endorsed changes to member categories to make membership more appealing to a wider range of individuals and organizations within the cessation field. These decisions were made after careful consideration by a Board committee, which included members, and are essential to sustain NAQC’s continued delivery of high-quality services and resources.

Please note the following important dates:

• Late March: Membership drive begins, and you will receive a renewal invoice via email.

• June 30, 2025: Last day to renew your membership.

• July 1, 2025: Start of your new membership year!

It is my privilege to lead the only membership organization dedicated to the access, quality, and sustainability of North American quitlines. I am committed to fulfilling NAQC's mission by facilitating dialogue, advancing research priorities, developing evidence-based reports and strategies, offering webinars, training, and other technical assistance, and strengthening cessation policy.

Thank you for your contributions to the consortium through membership dues and, more importantly, through your professional contributions to NAQC programs!
