NAQC Staffing Announcement

The North American Quitline Consortium (NAQC) welcomes Erin Boles Welsh (EBolesWelsh@naquitline.org) as a consultant on our CDC‑funded initiatives. A seasoned public health leader and co‑founder of the Healthy Communities Roadmap Collective, Erin brings extensive experience in tobacco control from her work with the Rhode Island Department of Health and as Chair of the Tobacco Control Network.

In recent months, Erin has led NAQC’s environmental scan and co‑hosted the Quitline Sustainability Workshop Series. Her expertise in technology‑driven cessation strategies will continue to enhance NAQC’s Knowledge Series, Community of Practice, and technical‑assistance programming.

At the same time, NAQC celebrates the outstanding contributions of Joyce Swetlick and Etta Short, who are concluding their tenure as Senior Consultants. Joyce advanced quitline administrator competencies and helped launch the Community of Practice for sustainability. Etta’s work in behavior change and health promotion enriched both the Knowledge Series and Project ENGAGE, where she developed a widely used online course on lung cancer screening.
