CONFERENCE OVERVIEWThe
promotion and delivery of quality, evidence-based quitline services in the midst
of difficult fiscal climates, ongoing healthcare reforms, shifting policy
landscapes and an ever-growing demand for cessation services remains a critical
priority for the entire quitline community and our partners. NAQC Conference
2012 will be the only national conference to focus solely on building the
capacity of the quitline community to improve the availability and quality of
its services while responding to these mounting challenges and
opportunities.
The conference, including all plenary and breakout
sessions, will focus on four principal areas or "tracks”: (
1) accessibility
and utilization; (2) promotion, partnership and referral; (3) organization,
management and funding; and (4) quality and outcomes. Sessions will focus
on current challenges, identifying strategies to address operational and
implementation roadblocks and the translation of recent research and evaluation
findings into improved strategies, practices and services.
NAQC
Conference 2012 will take place
August 13th and
14th as an ancillary meeting to the National Conference on
Tobacco or Health. On-site registration will open on August 13
th at
7 AM and the Welcome Plenary will begin at 10 AM that morning. The conference
will close at 3 PM on Tuesday afternoon. The target audience for the conference
is professionals who directly or indirectly influence the operations and funding
of quitlines. This includes NAQC members and partners with an interest in
quitlines and cessation. We anticipate that approximately 250 professionals will
attend, including those from state and provincial governments, organizations
that operate quitlines, researchers and evaluators, and national organizations
that are active in tobacco control, cessation, chronic diseases and health
systems.
PLEASE RSVP!In order to assist us
with space planning and other logistical details, please indicate your
anticipated ability to attend, by submitting an
