2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the California Smokers’ Helpline,
the first state/provincial quitline in North America! In an effort to engage the
entire quitline community in a celebration of all we have learned, endured and
achieved over the past twenty years, NAQC is hosting our first blog,
Celebrating 20 Years of Quitline History with 20 Questions About our
Future.
The online forum will feature twenty questions generated by
leaders across tobacco control, and answered by selected quitline colleagues
across North America. NAQC members will be invited and encouraged to post their
own answers to questions and responses to blog entries. The blog will begin on
January 3rd and the final question will be revealed
at the 2012 NAQC Conference! There, conference attendees will engage in a
lively, fun, collaborative process to answer the question most focused on the
future of quitlines. Our first question has been posed to Dr. Shu-Hong Zhu
and his team at the California Smokers’ Helpline...you’ll have to
wait until January 3rd to learn more!
On January
3rd NAQC members will receive an e-bulletin with blog-related
instructions and links. Should you have any questions at this time, please email
Tamatha Thomas-Haase at tthomas-haase@naquitline.org.
