Call for Applicants: 2013 APHA Public Health Fellowship in Government

Dear Friends:
On behalf of the
American Public Health Association (APHA), it is my pleasure to announce the
call for applications for the 2013 APHA Public Health Fellowship in Government.
This is the sixth year that APHA is offering this fellowship which has been
described as an "amazing" and "phenomenal" experience by previous fellows. Read

Candidates must have
strong public health credentials and be interested in spending one year in
Washington, D.C. working in a congressional office on legislative and policy
issues related to health, the environment or other public health
concerns.
The fellowship will
begin in January 2013 and continue through December 2013.The fellowship provides
a unique learning experience and demonstrates the value and need for basing
policy on sound science. Throughout the year, the fellow will gain a
practical knowledge in government and how the public policy
process works.

application, including a CV and three letters of recommendation, are due to APHA
by April 9, 2012.
All
candidates:
1. must be APHA
members (membership information : http://www.apha.org/about/membership/
)
2. have five years
experience as a public health professional beyond graduate or medical
training
3. have a graduate
degree in a public health or a
related discipline.
