SAVE THE DATE - A DRAFT RESEARCH AGENDA FOR QUITLINES - FEEDBACK FROM MEMBERS
Thursday, April 5, 2012
Posted by: Natalia Gromov
Join us on Thursday, April 19 from 12:00-1:30 pm ET for a
webinar focused on the draft Research Agenda for Quitlines. NAQC member feedback is
critical for helping to finalize the questions and potential uses for the
research agenda, and to help NAQC set priorities for the questions. We do hope
you can join us!
The Research Agenda for Quitlines is designed to help us
answer the questions:
- How can we most effectively reduce the impact and burden of tobacco use
through increasing the reach, delivery, and effectiveness of quitlines?
- How can we maximize our use of current resources?
- How can we continue to advance the state of the field?
Its purpose is three-fold:
- To provide criteria for developing and managing internally generated
research (within the consortium) as well as external requests for consortium
participation;
- To develop a balanced research portfolio that meets the needs of the
various stakeholder groups; and
- To leverage use of the Minimal Data Set.
During the
webinar, NAQC’s Director of Research, Jessie Saul, will present the
Research Agenda for Quitlines, noting both the
research questions it contains, as well as the ways
that the quitline community might use the answers to those questions to
advance quitline knowledge and practice. Immediately following the webinar,
members will be able to provide their feedback on how the
research questions should be prioritized, as well as whether any changes should
be made to the agenda itself. The draft Research Agenda is available for
review here.
If you are unable to
participate in the webinar, you can still provide your feedback. Please
review the Research Agenda for Quitlines. You can provide your feedback
either by emailing Jessie Saul (jsaul@naquitline.org) or by taking the
Survey Monkey evaluation survey. We strongly encourage all members to vote
on their top five research questions using the survey monkey link. This should
take no more than five minutes of your time. Additional feedback can be provided
about any of the research questions or the Research Agenda
document.
