FAQ

Question: Since NAQC metrics use budget data to calculate spending per smoker, should we submit state quitline spending in response to Question 30 or the state quitline budget?  Answer: Historically, NAQC has asked for the state quitline budget in order to use a state’s investment in the quitline to report out budget trends and spending per smoker. For consistency in FY2023, we again ask for the state’s quitline budget. If a state reports other than the quitline budget for Question 30(e.g., expenditures) please provide a detailed explanation in Question 77– Other Comments.

Question: Our primary service provider provides youth services. We also have an additional service provider for youth services. Should the data from the additional service provider be included in our youth data?
Answer: If the additional service provider is contracted through the quitline and uses quitline funding, please include the data in your annual survey submission. If the additional vendor is not contracted through your quitline funding but rather is a contract through another part of your state’s tobacco control program, do not include the data in your annual survey submission. NAQC is interested in engaging with states around this topic. If you have feedback on how NAQC considers youth data, please contact us at annualsurvey@naquitline.org.
