Opportunities to partner with African American and American Indian communities on tobacco cessation!

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to make you aware of three excellent opportunities to partner with National Networks who work in the African American and American Indian communities.

AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY: There are two upcoming opportunities. On Thursday, May 14, at Noon ET, join ASH and the African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council to discuss the Impact of COVID-19 on the African American Community. You can Register Here.

On Sunday, May 17, NAATPN invites all of us to join the faith community on a national observance day dedicated to educating congregants and community members about tobacco, vaping and the role of flavors like menthol. For information on how to participate, browse http://www.naatpn.org/nomentholsunday.

AMERICAN INDIAN COMMUNITY: On behalf of Southwest Navajo Tobacco Education Prevention Project (SNTEPP) and American Non-Smoker Rights Foundations, in collaboration with National Native Network and the Black Hills Center for American Indian Health we invite you to, “Strategies to Reopen Tribal Casinos 100% Smoke-Free” webinar. This event will take place on Friday May 15th @ 1:00pm – 2:00pm CST. The objective of this webinar is three-fold: 1) to share information on impacts of COVID19 related to commercial tobacco use and exposure of secondhand smoke within Tribal Casinos, 2) to increase knowledge on the benefits of reopening Tribal Casinos as a 100% smoke-free environment, 3) to share strategies and actions for programs, grassroots, and individuals to take action in how to support Tribal Casinos to reopen 100% smoke-free. We are asking individuals who wish to join the webinar to please register by clicking on the link below.
