The Behavioral Health & Wellness Program (BHWP) at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, just released two novel and timely resources: one focused on evaluating mHealth programs and the second on implementing meaningful, sustainable tobacco treatment changes in behavioral health settings.

The CO-CARES Mobile Health Evaluation Tool helps healthcare and public health providers and teams evaluate mobile healthcare (mHealth), including behavioral health apps, to enable confident recommendations to patients/clients, community, and peers. With over 300,000 mHealth apps available and expected to grow, this tool fills a critical resource gap in the field.

The Behavioral Health Cessation Coordination Model (BHCCM) Toolkit provides a framework for organizations operating within the behavioral healthcare system to implement new or updated nicotine/tobacco dependence treatment services. The toolkit provides organizations with a blueprint for evaluating their services and implementing sustainable changes utilizing the BHCCM as a planning tool.
