The Minnesota Department of Health is now accepting abstracts for the 2025 Minnesota Commercial Tobacco Prevention and Control Conference, to be held April 7-8, 2025, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The theme, “Resilient Together: Adapting to the Evolving Landscape of Commercial Tobacco,” underscores our collective commitment to innovation and resilience in the face of change.

We invite submissions from public health practitioners in the following areas:

  • Communications, Evaluation, and Surveillance
  • Health Equity
  • Commercial Tobacco Treatment Interventions and Health Systems Engagement
  • Addressing Commercial Tobacco and Nicotine Industry Influence
  • Commercial Tobacco Policy, Laws, and Regulations
  • Youth and Young Adults

The primary audiences for the conference are local commercial tobacco control and public health practitioners, partners, and Tribal Nations.

Presentation formats:

  • Breakout Session: Designed as 60-minute panels with a single abstract, topic, and focus. Typically, breakout sessions feature 2-3 presenters and allow 10-15 minutes for questions and discussion. Proposed speakers may also submit individual presentations on the same topic.
  • Individual Presentation: Designed as a 15–20-minute presentation by a single speaker on a single topic. Individual presenters will be grouped with others into a 60-minute session.

All proposals will be evaluated based on content and measurable objectives. Submission of an abstract does not guarantee inclusion in the conference. The review committee reserves the right to reassign accepted abstracts to different categories than those selected during submission.
