and the CDC National Network’s SelfMade Health Network launched a new webinar series, “Within & Beyond the Walls of Healthcare: Building Tobacco Treatment Referral Networks Through Community Partnerships.” The series highlights practical ways healthcare systems, public‑health programs, quitlines, and community partners can collaborate to strengthen referral networks and expand access to evidence‑based commercial tobacco
treatment.
First Webinar — State and Health Systems Partnership Models
September 1 at 1:00 p.m. ET
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- List at least one (1) example of a multi-sector partnership model involving a state government program and health system or health clinics that can be applied to improve commercial tobacco cessation referral rates among low-income populations.
- Identify at least one (1) health system intervention that can be used to improve commercial tobacco cessation rates among low-income populations.
- Describe at least one (1) organizational, clinical, operational, and/or communication strategy (e.g. text messaging) that supports the integration of commercial tobacco treatment referrals into routine healthcare delivery.
- Learn about at least one (1) resource or action step that helps to describe how workflow analysis can inform the design and implementation of tobacco treatment referral systems in healthcare settings to support timely intervention, follow-up, and patient/client engagement.
- Apply lessons learned from healthcare, public health, and clinic partnerships to strengthen quitline referral systems within their own organizations.
