Partnership for Prevention invites you to participate in an upcoming ActionToQuit webinar on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. The program, entitled Saving Money:The Massachusetts Tobacco Cessation Medicaid Benefit, will discuss the new Medicaid return on investment study and policy paper announced earlier this month. Leighton Ku, from The George Washington University, will address the research project and his team’s findings. Erika Sward, from the American Lung Association, will address the policy implications of expanding cessation coverage for Medicaid beneficiaries. Jeffrey Willett, from the New York State Department of Health, will discuss his state’s recent progress in tobacco cessation policy change.
The free webinar will be held February 8 from 2:00 - 3:15pm Eastern time (11:00am Pacific). To register, see the flyer with a link to the registration page.
Please feel free to share this information with tobacco control leaders and advocates nationwide. The study and its policy implications, highlighted in the webinar, may be of special interest to policymakers and state Medicaid staff because of the emphasis on reducing health care costs.
