The U.S. Food & Drug Administration took an important step on May 5 to protect public health by issuing a final “deeming” regulation, which extends its authority over tobacco products to include e-cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, and hookah. The FDA will now regulate all existing and future tobacco products.
