The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA) provided $650 million for a Prevention and Wellness Fund to implement proven prevention and wellness strategies to create a healthier nation. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has developed a new initiative—Communities Putting Prevention to Work—to reduce risk factors for chronic disease and promote wellness in both children and adults. read more
