New Medicaid Resources from the American Lung Association.

The American Lung Association recently released the following resources on Medicaid. These resources provide a great foundation for states working with Medicaid.

1.     Medicaid: A Tobacco Cessation Primer This new document provides a basic overview of the Medicaid program. It is intended to provide public health professionals with information that will help them work with their state Medicaid program to implement tobacco cessation best practices. 2.     Barriers to Tobacco Cessation Treatment in State Medicaid Programs This brief explores barriers to accessing tobacco cessation for the Medicaid population. It can be found here.

3.     Improving Medicaid Tobacco Cessation Coverage in South Carolina: A Case Study in Partnership This case study tells the story of South Carolina's Medicaid Office and Public Health Department working together to expand their tobacco cessation coverage for the Medicaid population.  It can be found here.
