CDC’s New Videos Promoting Quitlines!

Smokers who call a quitline are more likely to quit successfully, however many people don’t know about them or how they work. To help de-mystify the experience, CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health (OSH) has created a new series of videos to illustrate how calling a quitline can help people who smoke quit for good. The videos demonstrate what people can expect when calling for the first time, and how they can receive free, confidential, non-judgmental coaching. In addition, these videos - featuring real quitline coaches – reveal how coaches handle common quitting issues:

  • Helping people develop a personal quit plan that fits their needs
  • Suggesting tools and resources for managing cravings and avoiding triggers
  • Providing support to handle setbacks
