April 1, 2020, the Minnesota Department of Health launched a new statewide, free tobacco and nicotine cessation programs under the name Quit Partner (www.QuitPartnerMN.com).

Quit Partner offers many quit support options and resources so Minnesota residents can continue to find the way to quit that works best for them. Support includes phone coaching; web, chat, email, and texting programs; and free quit medication (nicotine patches, gum or lozenges), including two-week starter kits. Quit Partner also features specialized offerings for youth under the name My Life, My Quit.  All Quit Partner programs are provided by National Jewish Health.

Free quitting help for Minnesotans was previously offered by QUITPLAN(r) Services, which stopped accepting new enrollees on March 31, 2020. QUITPLAN Services is funded by ClearWay Minnesota, an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing commercial tobacco's harm and a founding member of NAQC. The funding for ClearWay Minnesota will be ending in 2021, so all of our programs are closing out.

Quit Partner will continue to provide all Minnesotans with a choice of high-quality, specialized programs, including for people living with mental illnesses or substance use disorders, American Indian communities (www.aiquit.com), pregnant and post-partum women, and youth under the age of 18 (www.mylifemyquit.com).

If you have any questions about this change, please reach out to Randi Lachter at ClearWay Minnesota (rlachter@clearwaymn.org) or Jen Cash at the Minnesota Department of Health (jen.cash@state.mn.us).
