New Tobacco Cessation Resources Available from American Lung Association.

Several new tobacco cessation resources are now available at www.lung.org/CessationTA. Below you will find links and a short description of these tools. Please feel free to share these with partners and anyone who might be interested. 

  • Guide to Assessing Tobacco Cessation Coverage Tool and Podcast 
    This guide walks you through how to assess tobacco cessation coverage in health plans. There five different assessment sections with template questions. The guide also walks through key considerations and partnerships. Additionally, the Lung Association interviewed Public Health Department staff in Rhode Island and Washington about their experiences assessing tobacco cessation coverage in our podcast. 
  • Mental Health Parity Act and Tobacco Cessation Factsheet
    This factsheet looks at the impact the Mental Health Parity Act has on tobacco cessation coverage. 
  • Tobacco Cessation and FQHCs Factsheet 
    This factsheet provides an overview of tobacco cessation coverage in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). 
  • Tobacco Cessation, Telehealth and A Pandemic: A Changing Landscape Factsheet 
    This factsheet builds upon the Lung Association’s previous repot, Telehealth As A Vehicle to Support Tobacco Cessation, by providing updates on how tobacco cessation is covered via telehealth during the COVID-19 public health emergency.   
  • Tobacco Cessation Template Slides 
    These unbranded template slides can be used to create a state-specific presentations on tobacco cessation coverage. Data sources are included in the notes section and be customized to fit your needs.
