Groups Ask FDA to Act on 2013 Citizen Petition.

November 9, 2020, sixty-eight public health and medical organizations sent the
FDA a letter urging it
to grant a long-pending Citizen Petition
calling for the FDA to prohibit menthol as a characterizing flavor in
cigarettes. The Tobacco Control Legal Consortium (now the Public Health Law
Center) filed this Citizen Petition on April 12, 2013, on behalf of twenty
leading national organizations, and the FDA has yet to provide a substantive
response.
