CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health (OSH) has a new new feature article highlighting the recently expanded web content on cessation medications and offering readers tips on how to use cessation meds to increase their chances of quitting successfully.

The feature discusses in plain, accessible language:

Both the feature and the web content highlight a conclusion in the 2020 Smoking Cessation: A Report of the Surgeon General stating that medication and counseling—when used together as directed—can just about double a person’s chances of successfully quitting.
The article also highlights the story of Tips From Former Smokers® (Tips®) campaign participant Beatrice R. She used NRT to quit smoking before she experienced any serious health concerns. Since its inception through 2018, Tips has inspired more than a million people who smoked to successfully quit, and has inspired over 16 million more people to try quitting smoking.
