Thursday, June 23 | 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. ET Join the National Behavioral Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control for a masterclass workshop to build awareness around the impacts of bias and provide strategies to overcome these barriers in tobacco cessation treatment. This masterclass workshop will provide real-time discussion and feedback from National Council for Mental Wellbeing experts Tamanna Patel, MPH, director, Practice Improvement and Consulting, and Amelia Roeschlein, DSW, MA, LMFT, consultant for Trauma-Informed Resilience-oriented Equitable services. They will bring expertise from a variety of national health equity initiatives. At the end of this masterclass workshop, you will be able to: - Analyze the role of bias at the client, provider and organizational level.
- Analyze the role of bias among individuals with mental health and substance use challenges who use tobacco.
- Examine two strategies to overcome bias at the provider and organizational level to assist organizations in supporting individuals with mental health and substance use challenges.
