November 17 - The Great
American Smokeout®. New CDC Feature Article Encourages Participation
in the Great American Smokeout® and Promotes Free Quit Tools and
Resources to Improve Chances of Quitting Smoking.
Thousands of Americans are expected to participate in the American Cancer
Society’s Great
American Smokeout®. A new CDC
Feature Article (available in English and Spanish)
encourages people who smoke to join in the November 17th event. The article
provides quit tips and offers free quit tools and resources to help people who
smoke quit successfully. Cigarette smoking remains the leading preventable
cause of disease and death in the United States. Quitting smoking is not easy,
but it has health benefits at any age, no matter how long or how much someone
has smoked. The good news is we know what works best to help people quit
smoking successfully—and there are more free tools and resources than ever to
help. Check out CDC Tobacco Free Facebook
and Twitter
for shareable content.
